About Your Facilitator, Dr Elizabeth Joy Shaffer
With 25+ years of experience as a therapist, keynote speaker, educator, published researcher, contributing author and devoted mother, my mission is to empower all individuals (especially the neurodivergent community) with the information, tools, and support needed to live to their fullest potential with less stress and more joy.
Since completing my degree in Rehabilitation Sciences (University of Pittsburgh) in 2001, I have worked with thousands of children, parents, and schools globally. You can read my published research on Decreasing Stress for Parents of Neurodiverse Children here.
Drawing on lessons learned from my own professional and personal parenting experiences, I created the Empowered Parent Pathway: a program for parents worldwide to reduce parental stress and foster meaningful connections between children and their caregivers.
I am also a contributing author to The Highest Frequencies of Love: Unconventional Solutions for Parents of Children on the Autism Spectrum and The Perfectly Imperfect Parent.
Together, we can make this journey lighter!

Embracing mistakes is essential to the human experience. Every misstep offers us valuable lessons that contribute to our growth. However, there are ways of approaching life that make it easier for both us (parents) and our kids.
This is not a parenting workshop, but a parent-centerd training that will give you the tools to create a strong foundation for self-regulation, physical, emotional, and mental health and well-being, so you can then show your child through your example how to care for yourself in a way that allow you to feel less stressed and more in control of life.
Because our children learn from what we do, not what we say, when we do better, our kids do better. However, life doesn't come with a manual, nor does raising a human being. So, join us and get the support you need to support your child's needs, from a "full bucket" with a bit more fun and joy.
